Pumpkin Carving for Camp Sunshine

In the spirit of giving and Halloween, on Friday October 26th, Freeport High School Art teachers staged their two  rooms for all FHS students to carve 1000 pumpkins to donate to LL Bean's annual Pumpkinfest- a family fundraiser for Camp Sunshine.  Students in all grades spent part of their day carving pumpkins that were then delivered to LL Bean to set up for the festival.  This event was sponsored by FHS student council.  See the video

Camp Sunshine supports children with life threatening illnesses and their families.  The camp has the distinction of being the only program in the nation whose mission is to address the impact of a life threatening illness on every member of the immediate  family—the ill child, the parents, and the siblings.  Since its inception, Camp Sunshine has provided a haven for over 30,000 individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
