FHS Maine meets FHS New York!
January 27th a team of 5 FHS students and two staff members traveled to Freeport, NY to deliver donations and gift cards to schools on Long Island who were impacted by Superstorm Sandy. The team had a Meet and Greet with Freeport High School, NY students, teachers, principal, school board members, and the superintendent who served a lovely breakfast. From there the team traveled to another high school to deliver more donations. This school is relocated to an elementary school for now because of extensive damage to their high school. They may not be back into their building until next fall. Last stop was the elementary school which is now back in their building after much damage. Students sang a song and presented thank you cards to the FHS team. Huge thanks to all students in RSU5, community members, Bath Savings, Zachau Construction, Big Al's, Cool As a Moose, Sherman's Book Store, JMG, Kittery Schools, CVS, Mangy Moose, Casey Family Services, and individuals near and far! Together we made a difference! $2,000 was raised and over 2000 lbs of donations including school and office supplies. See photo and news links below.

FHS Students are working to support students and families in Freeport, NY who have been impacted by Superstorm Hurricane Sandy. They are looking for new school supply donations, gift cards to Target and Wal-Mart, and money donations as well. Donation deadline is December 20th. They can be dropped off at RSU5 schools or Freeport Community Services. Items will be distributed to Freeport, NY in the new year. We are hoping to find funding to drive a school van full of supplies and make the delivery to Freeport High School, NY! Checks can be made out to Freeport High School, memo: Freeport to Freeport.
