FHS Art Club students have been working on a service project to support animal welfare organizations. Guest speakers from both Community Spay-Neuter Clinc (Freeport) and Coastal Humane Society (Brunswick) came and spoke with the students about their organization and mission. This inspired students to want to create original, silk screened T-shirts to sell and have proceeds benefit each organization. In October, students visited Art Forms, a national silkscreening, T-Shirt company based in Brunswick and learned about production first hand. They met with the design team, production manager, and the silk screeners. Students were invited to try the equipment.
In addition to the T-shirts students will be designing stencils to have put on the Community Spay-Neuter Clinic van. They are working on designs and once the project is completed, an update will get posted. T-shirts can be purchased through the art department, Kimberly Medsker- Mehalic, at medskerk@rsu5.org
