WALT to solve word problems using an appropriate operation.

Monday: Complete any unfinished work from last week. If completed, make a copy of the Alphabet Maths activity below and complete it. Once that is done you may either play Maths Whizz, or Hit the Button or one of the other links I put on last week's presentation.

WALT to solve addition problems by rounding up and compensating

While you are waiting to see Miss Hockly, work with a partner to practise your 8 & 9 times tables. Then play 'Hit the Button' or on Maths Whizz.

After working with Miss Hockly complete this presentation.

1. While you are waiting to see Miss Hockly, get into groups of three and play 'Salute' using either addition or subtraction.

2. After being with Miss Hockly, work through the presentation below.

Be sure to show each step accurately, and using the Talk Moves help everyone in your group understand how to solve the problem. When we come together as a class your group will have an opportunity to present your problem solving process with the class.
