WALT: Use various strategies to solve decimal problems
Instructions
Make sure you complete all of the following activities this week.
1 - Math Whizz 15 minutes every day
2 - Problem Solving
1. Make a copy of the presentation (look to the right)
2. File it in your maths folder & turn it in
3. Complete the presentation. Remember to add in all of
your working so that others may understand your solution.
4. On Friday once you have finished, post this on your blog with the WALT, and 2 sentences explaining your learning
Create:
Write two words problem that are fractions related.
Don't forget to put your questions into a context.
Find a buddy to work them out then publish to your blog!
Ensure your buddy has written their strategy and shown their working out.
Put this in the presentation or straight to a blog post.

Last week we looked at solving 'part unknown' problems, for example - There are 42 candles (the whole) spread evenly on a cake. How many candles are on 3/4 (part) of the cake?
This week we are looking at solving 'Whole unknown' problems, for example There are 18 candles spread evenly on 3/4 (part) of a cake. How many candles are on the whole (whole) cake? In this example we know how many candles are on part of the cake, what we don;t know is how many are on the whole so it is a 'whole unknown' problem.
