Good Evening Puma Band Family,
The purpose of this e-mail is to provide updated information:
1. Band Assessment Festival is March 29 at NorthWestern High School. All Concert Band members are required to participate. This is a mandatory graded (3000-points) event. Notification was posted in the course syllabus, google site, and covered during the first week of school. All Concert Band Members are required to participate. Please refer to the Course Syllabus. Parents/Guardians ensure that your child attends. Another copy of the permission form is attached.
2. Parent meeting. This Tuesday, March 27 a meeting has been scheduled to disseminate information about the approved Kings Dominion Spring Trip. All students planning to participate must attend the meeting and required payments. Please refer to the attached permission form for more details.
3. Cluster Concert. The Dr. Henry A. Wise Instrumental Department will host the first annual Instrumental Cluster Concert Friday, April 13, 2012 at 7:00pm. Both 2A & 3A band will perform.
4. Spring Concert. The annual Spring Concert is Friday, April 20, 2012 at 7:00pm.
5. Upper Marlboro Day Parade. The Marching Band will participate in the 36th Annual Marlboro Day celebration. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, 2012. More information will be available.
6. Graduation. The Combined Concert Band will perform at Graduation. Graduation is June 1 at 9am at the UMCP Comcast Center. Transportation will be provided from Wise. This is a Mandatory graded event. More information will be posted.
7. Extra Credit Opportunity. Concert Band Students, earn 25-extra credit (class & home work) points. Cut, copy and paste this e-mail and e-mail to me at Alphonso.Jiles@pgcps.org by Tuesday, March 27 by 11:59pm. You must include your name in the subject line and in the body of the message. This is a one shot deal! Do not miss this opportunity.
8. Grades close this week, Concert Band Students do not miss Band Assessment Festival. Students, you will be assessed in class playing the music. Make sure you know your music.
