Dear Puma Band,
First, thank you for a wonderful performance last night at the Marching Band showcase. I am so proud of you and I hope you enjoyed the experience. Your hard work, dedication, and many long hours of practice really paid off. I want to encourage you to continue with that same spirit for pep band and concert season.
I have only one major concern and that is your ability to follow directions. Several times I asked you to stop talking while the other bands were performing and you ignored me. Simply put, that is just incoordination, out right rude, and disregard for my instructions. My expectation is that you will not only perform well but also follow directions. Personally, I think it is rude to talk while another band is performing. It is not good to expect people to look at and listen to your performance and you consistently talk while they perform. If it seemed that I over reacted and was rude, do not take it personal.
In addition, to music I try to teach you life skills. I hope you learn that following directions is life skill that sometimes can help you gain favor with people. Personally I believe “your talent may get you into places however, it is your character that will help you stay”. Students, I do not expect you to act like robots but I do expect you to follow directions.
You are a great band. I will always demand and expect the best from you and I know you can and will deliver. Remember our Band Motto:
The Legacy Begins With Me
Motivated
Dedicated
Respectful
Responsible
Teachable
Puma Pride
Please be more respectful, responsible, and teachable. Finally, remain motivated and continue to be dedicated. I look forward a great year.
