PURPOSE and PROBLEM

PURPOSE:  the main aim of this project is to introduce the Key Competences into the  school curriculum of compulsory education. 

• The proposal to introduce these key competences was made by the Parliament and the Council of the European Union in December  2016  (See attached document: RECOMMENDATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 18 December 2006 on key competences for lifelong learning)

• This recommendation has been incorporated into European Union legislation through different laws, acts and regulations .

THE PROBLEM:

• There is a huge gap between legislation  and schools. Between what the law says and what is done in schools. 

• Our schools were asking for a strategy to implement these competences in their curriculums and this concern has been the starting point of our project.
