Activity 0: Introducing the work and reviewing previous knowledge

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: An understanding of how to plan the stages we need to take to carry out the project.

PROCESS:

We will introduce the work by suggesting a problem. Dental hygiene is very important in order to avoid tooth decay and pain. This is why we will suggest that the snack the children bring to school should be as healthy as possible. 

There will be six steps:

a)   Analyse the snacks the children bring each day

b)   Classify healthy snacks

c)   Write and distribute the invitation

d)   Give an oral explanation of the mural

e)   Hold the Healthy Snacks Day

f)    Write and send a thank you letter to all those that participated.

Together we will prepare a mural illustrating all these steps. 

Production:

We will take a photo of the mural and keep it in a class folder.

Evaluation:

What the teacher will assess: 

  - Active and cooperative attitude

  - Level of comprehension of the plan undertaken.

Self-assessment:

Once the activity is finished, we will all discuss what we have learned and any challenges we faced.
