Today was one of the good days. My numbers are stable enough that the doctors gave us tomorrow off...that is we don’t have to go in for blood testing. I am still enormously tired, but we managed to walk to and from Rochester Methodist without incident.
Mina and Roy Wakeham, old friends stopped by for a visit and we showed them about the transplant house. Odd that we felt some pride in the place, maybe it is becoming just a little bit home. We introduced them to some other residents who are becoming friends.
Then Marian’s dream come true...we went to the Apache Mall for a bit of window shopping. Oddly, I am the only person to make a purchase...replacement slippers for my raggedy ruins with souls a’floppin’. Oh, and Marian had a watch battery replaced. High times at Rochester High.
Finally, we went out to dinner at a local restaurant called the Canadian Honker. The food was excellent, even if I could not have any salad and my steak had to be well done (those are the rules).
I hope everyone had a wonderful day. I am so tired from our little adventure that I will have to stop here for the night. More cards and letters in the mail came today and that, as always, made us feel special. I will have more news tomorrow, when I can remember what it is...
Thanks to you all for your support, the prayers, the letters, the cards, the e-mails. Special thanks to the Glad Tidings Womans Ministries, who sent me a very warm lap robe for these cold Minnesota nights.
Love and Blessings,
Mick
