Today in class we previewed lesson 3.5 (long division and partial quotients methods)
- We discussed how IXL went
- We defined the U.S. Traditional Algorithm for Decimal Division
- We practiced division using the partial quotient method
- We reviewed decimal multiplication with a worksheet

Tuesday:
Begin Lesson 3.5: I can use the U.S. Traditional Long Division Algorithm to solve whole number division problems.
SMP: 1 & 7
- We went over the Math Boxes p. 130, and the Multiplication Worksheet
- We worked in Math Journal p. 126-127 (using long division and checking out work)

Finish Lesson 3.5: I can use the U.S. Traditional Long Division Algorithm to solve whole number division problems.

- We talked about how to write the quotient (answer) to a long division problem as a fraction and as a decimal
- We talked about why we would write a problem with a remainder as a fraction, decimal, or a remainder
- We worked on Math Journal p. 128

- We learned how to divide decimal numbers in different ways

- Bring in a percent example from your daily life (it must be a printed picture or something on paper to bring in). Can be from TV, the internet, a magazine or newspaper, be creative!

Friday:
"Begin" Lesson 3.7: I can check if my answer makes sense as I use pricing options to determine the "best buy."
- We went over Home Link 3.6 & Math Boxes p. 133
- We worked in Math Journal p. 134 and compared the pricing options (using decimal operations) of packs of hot dog buns.
- We previewed the extended response problem for next week
- We had time to practice our decimal division skills (to be finished for homework)
