Monday:
Today in class we "previewed" the Three Dimensional Geometry Unit
- We did a "KWL" activity with groups
- We took the Unit Pre Test
Homework:
- Finish the Pre Test (if you didn't finish it in class today)
- IXL F.F.15 is due Friday
Tuesday:
Today we talked about an intro to cubic units, cubes, volume & surface area.
- We got back the Two Dimensional Geometry Unit Test
- We discussed cubes their qualities, their descriptions, their properties
- We talked about cubic units, surface area, volume, and nets
- We constructed different "nets" on grid paper
Homework:
- Answer the last 3 questions that are on Schoology (last image), due in class tomorrow
- IXL F.F.15, Due Friday
Wednesday:
Today we introduced the concept of boxes and constructed them.
- We compared cubes and boxes (talked about their similarities & differences)
- We constructed "nets" for box shaped figures on centimeter grid paper
- We talked about how we would solve for the surface area (and volume) of these figures
Homework:
- Answer the last 2 questions that are on Schoology (last image), due in class tomorrow
- IXL F.F.15, Due Friday
Thursday:
Today we talked about how Boxes are Rectangular Prisms, and how to describe them.
- We talked about the length, width, height and base of a rectangular prism
- We used nets to make "boxes"
- We calculated the length, width, and height of the prisms
- We solved for the surface area of the prisms, and figured out how many square units would fit inside them.
Homework:
- Answer the last 2 questions that are on Schoology (last 2 images ), due in class tomorrow
- IXL F.F.15, Due Tomorrow!
Friday:
Today we wrapped up Surface Area of Rectangular Prisms.
- We went over the homework
- We reviewed how to solve for Surface Area
- Some students worked on creating isometric figures
- Other students worked on missing work/IXL
- Some students worked with Mrs. Segal
Homework Tonight:
- If you have any missing/late work, please complete it for Monday
