Class Starter Question: You are working at Maurices (a clothing store here in Cedar City for Women) and I walk in (by myself) what greeting would you use? what skillful questioning tactics might you use to help sale me product?
Step 1 Preparing to Sell
A. Acquire as much information as possible about the product(s)
B. Identify products features and benefits
Marketing Function or Utility - Product Service Management
Obtaining, developing, maintaining, and improving a product or a product mix in response to market opportunities.
Product Knowledge Project -
Pick a product category i.e. Shoes, Cars, Side by Sides, 4 Wheel Drive Trucks, Soda, Tacos, etc.
Create a Google Presentation with information about 2 competing products in that category
The First slide will introduce the topic (Product Comparison _________ (category your choose)
The next slide will list the 2 products with pictures and their names.
Slide 3 will show a picture and spotlight a feature of product 1 with its perceived benefit.
Slide 4 will show the competing product picture and similar feature comparatively.
Slides 5-12 will continue this process for 4 more features of the products and comparing them.
Slide 13 will summarize the Product 1 in a Headline that could be used in a product presentation to sale the product using the theme of 9/11 22 years later.
Slide 14 will do the same for Product 2
Consider approaches such as Appreciation (for being here still and having the opportunities we have, considering the lives lost that day), Patriotism, Family, Safety, and or progress.
Make sure it is in your shared folder under the name Product Knowledge Project.
