Class Starter Notes: Why shouldn't Bankruptcy be a first option for someone struggling to pay their bills?

ESPN 30 for 30 "Broke" (Unless you have an ESPN+ subscription, you will have to watch it in class)

Notes on Chrome Books:

Take notes in a Google Doc and consider the following thought questions:

What are some common characteristics of those who lose large amounts of money and file Bankruptcy?

What could they have done to prevent it?

Why do you think that some of these Pro Athletes have such a hard time handling that much money all at once?

What do you think the leagues could do to better prepare these young athletes for the money they are about to come in to?

Even though this documentary discussed those who made millions, how do we relate this to everyday life and apply it to all people regardless of how much they make?

If you can not make it to class to watch the ESPN Broke movie this class or next, you can also reference this Sports Illustrated article
