In 2012, a Vietnamese American, Trần Hùng John, decided to travel throughout Vietnam with an empty pocket to really learn about the country that is his homeland. He recounted his 80-day journey in his book, John đi tìm Hùng (2013), in which he shares his observations about Vietnamese ways of life and his perspective.

Using research and interviews, you can also discover aspects of everyday life in Vietnam that make up Vietnamese culture and express your views on these cultural aspects. The topics you can explore are:

• spiritual beliefs
