These language materials will help you prepare for the poster about a Vietnamese person. Please preview the poster's content to plan ahead how you will be using these language forms.


1. Talking about someone's family:

  • Chapter 6 in "Let's speak Vietnamese"
  • Practice Chapter 6 at the Online Learning Center
  • Draw your own family tree in Vietnamese and tell your classmate about your family members. You can use paper or this interactive family tree creator online.
  • Find out about your classmates' families and how they are doing with this "Find someone who..." game.
  • Option A: Record yourself describing your family. Share the recording with your teacher via Google Drive for feedback.
  • Option B: Write about your family and email the description to your teacher for feedback.

2. Talking about someone's hobbies and interests:

  • Chapter 7 in "Let's speak Vietnamese"
  • Practice Chapter 7 at the Online Learning Center
  • Name as many hobbies as you can with these pictures (compete in teams to see who wins!)
  • Name as many sports as you can with these pictures (compete again in teams to see who wins!)
  • Option A: Record yourself describing your hobbies and interests. Share the recording with your teacher via Google Drive or a similar sharing tool for feedback.
  • Option B: Write about your hobbies and interests and email the description to your teacher for feedback.

3. Talking about people's physical appearance

  • Open these photos 3 rows at a time. Choose one of the photos and describe the physical appearance of a person in the photos without telling your classmates who you are describing. Your classmates will guess. See if they can guess correctly.

  • Option B: Write about your favorite character's physical appearance and email the description to your teacher for feedback.
