To find out the dialectal differences in the vocabulary you have learned in Viet 101 and Viet 102, you will use the following resources:

• a Vietnamese speaker who are familiar with dialectal differences in Vietnamese. These tend to be people who have traveled or lived in both the north and south of Vietnam, or people who have experiences communicating with northern and southern dialect speakers.
• the glossary in the back of your "Let's Speak Vietnamese" textbook (starting on p. 309) as the basis for comparison.
• a Youtube video about vocabulary differences between tiếng Bắc and tiếng Nam by SVFF
• humorous stories about misunderstandings due to dialectal differences here. You may also ask your interviewee to explain these stories to you if you need help. You could also use the ideas from these stories for your skit (optional, see Explore page).
