• Play a game to practice Vietnamese names for groceries: Your teacher will show you pictures of markets in Vietnam from this series of photos. In two teams, try to name as many and as quickly as you can the items you see in each market. The team who raise their hands first get to say the word and write the word on a large piece of paper to show the class. The other team may challenge by asking the speaking team to point to the image of the word they just named. The team who can get more words correctly both orally and in writing wins that round.
• View the images for this menu plan for one week. Try to guess the dishes before reading the descriptions. Talk to a partner about each day: Which items would you eat and which items would you change?
• Read this menu plan for a week. Check the dishes you think you know how to cook and would like to eat.
