For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. (Romans 1:20)

• 1. Define deity. What characteristic(s) makes someone or something a deity?

  2. Why did the ancient people in many cultures have a sun god? What was it about the sun that made them think the sun was deity?

  3. Why did God create objects like the sun that appear to be deities and make people drawn to those objects instead of to Him?
