Project 10
Project: Determining the Molar Heat Capacity of a Metal
Project Helps:
Goal:
Design an experiment to measure molar heat capacities of zinc, iron or copper. You can pick either one, but just do one.
Rules:
This project is done individually.
You do NOT have to do the experiment, only come up with a written design for doing the experiment!
There is no length requirement for the paper.
What needs to be done?
Read page 341 and Figure 4 and use it as a guide to doing this experiment.
Write a paper formatted like a lab, but only having an introduction and a methods section (See Sample Paper Format).
The paper will include:
A title of this paper (summarizing your project in one short phrase)
Your name
An introduction
Stating the purpose of the experiment and what you want to find out.
A methods section
Explaining how you plan to do the experiment.
Submit this paper in hard copy or share it electronically with your instructor.
How the paper will be graded (See Project Evaluation)
