Nuclear power is generated in the process of breaking apart uranium atoms, which is called fission for short. It makes heat to produce steam, the steam is used by a turbine generator and electricity is generated. It produces this and is heavily maintenanced, or we would have Chernobyl all over again.
There are 3 nuclear power plants in our state. They are Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Station, Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station, and Salem Nuclear Power Plant. One is being discontinued in 2019 of December though. Here's where two of them are compared to where we are.
It makes a heap of energy, but it is costly.
It makes new jobs for maintenance, but creates waste.
It can support bigger areas, but it ruins their scenery.
I think this energy, while effective, is too costly to become that mainstream. I think a brand new energy making source will come onto the scene and prove the most efficient.
It will probably stop being used after this amazing hyper energy comes onto the scene.
