Alex expected to produce a total of rain accumulations of 3 to 5 inches over the Azores, with a possible isolated maximum of 7 inches. Hurricane Alex forced the winds by extending outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center. The tropical storm forced winds by extending outward up to 150 miles(240 km).
