Many streets were flooded, trees and power lines knocked down and the one of New Jersey famous boardwalks was ripped apart. Along the Jersey shore, people were left stranded in their homes and waited for rescue teams in boats to rescue them. More than 80 homes were destroyed. A lot of them where destroyed in Long Beach Island. Some other towns that where effective are Toms River, Ocean City, and many more. President Obama said " The public should anticipate that there;s going to be a lot of power, and it may take time for that power to get back on."
