HPC Storage

HPC Storage is a fast parallel file system storage that is mounted on the HPC cluster. HPC Storage has the general 7-day snapshot policy. It is meant to be used as the main storage for successfully running HPC jobs.

Access to the Service

A faculty may request additional storage at HPC Storage by contacting hpc-support@case.edu and giving the information about the requested storage size and payment information.

Naming Convention

If you lease a storage volume in the HPC storage, it will be allocated at:

     /mnt/pan/<Userspace>

where the <Userspace> is based on: /SCHOOL_DEPT_PI'sID

Checking Usage and Capacity on Leased Storage

/mnt/pan

Check usage against the quota with quotapan (similar to the other quota scripts). The command requires a unique string from the storage path to pull the correct record from the reference file. For example, to see the quota for /mnt/pan/<Userspace>:

$ quotapan <PI’s CaseID>

Access to the HPC Storage

Access to the HPC storage can be gained on the cluster by “cd /mnt/pan/<Userspace>”

It is possible to mount the storage space remotely on the workstation using WebDrive (obtainable from software center webpage), or other sshfs apps.
