Markov Cluster Access with OnDemand
To have a consistent Markov cluster experience, we suggest using the OnDemand.case.edu web access.
Please follow the following steps.
Go to ondemand.case.edu
Select "Markov Desktop" under "Interactive Apps"
In the resource selection window, you can accept the default and press "Launch".
Later on, depending on the additional specific job requirements, you might want to tweak the default numbers to ensure the job would succeed.
Wait for a little time until the resource becomes available.
You can adjust "Compression" and "Image Quality" as needed, depending on your bandwidth connection, or just stick with the default.
When the button is available, press "Launch Markov Desktop"
It should open up an HPC compute node Desktop tab on the browser
Open a terminal by right click on the Desktop (pretty much anywhere besides the icond), and select "Open Terminal Here" from the dropdown menu.
The following instructions only apply to DSci classes that are taught by Dr. French.
Click in the terminal, and run the following commands:
module load cuda/10.1
module load singularity
singularity shell --nv /usr/local/singularity/containers/hpc-ods/hpc-ods.sif
In the Singularity shell, type in the command you want to run, e.g. rstudio
