Archival Storage

To provide long-term storage for the CWRU community, Research Computing group provides the Research Archival Service.

Appropriate Data for the Service

The service is meant to provide an inexpensive option to store:

• Published data, 

• Inactive important data, 

• Data analysis

• Raw instrumental data, 

• and other kind of data that would need to be kept long term, either for administration purpose, or for additional research purpose down the road.

Access

Research Archive can be accessed through Globus application and this is

 Instruction on how to do the data transfer.

The directory on the Research Archive location will be produced based on the department_school_PI's name. The users that would be permitted to access the directory, would need to log into Globus at least once using the CWRU Single Sign-On so the Globus account would be created. Once the users are assigned to the directory, the data transfer can proceed.

Billing

The Research Archival Storage is heavily subsidized up to 25TB of data.

• For data smaller than 25TB, cost for 5 TB of data per 5 years is $200.

• For data larger than 25TB, cost for 5TB of data per 5 years is $960.
