Activities for Huck Finn So Far

In order to demonstrate your understanding of Huck Finn so far, you’ll need to complete one of the following activities.  Choose one that either fits your strengths or would stretch you in a way that interests you.  They are all worth the same amount of credit in my mind; I merely hope that with whatever you choose, you will demonstrate your understanding of the story and illustrate your personal interpretation.   Spend about 20--30 minutes on this activity.

1)    Write poems inspired by the story.  You could focus on the characters, the events or the themes you see in the book.

2)    Make a comic strip version of a favorite.  Cover and show events you think are key.

3)    Write an essay explaining your thoughts on the book so far.  Use quotations as evidence, analyze the evidence and make a case for your interpretation.

4)    Write a newspaper account of the story, mimicking journalistic style.  Have a headline, a lead paragraph, quotes from the involved parties and witnesses.

5)    Write yourself into a scene from the book.  What would you so and say?
