Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption
First Screenplay
For this first bit of writing, you should create an original screenplay. It should have a beginning middle and end. It should fit the paradigm—i.e roughly have ¼ set-up, ½ confrontation and ¼ resolution.
Your screenplay should be of a manageable length—under five pages. Though a page of a screenplay typically contains fewer words than a page of prose, you don’t want it to get too out of control.
Two main options exist:
You can…
Write an original screenplay—a story you made up
Adapt a short story to create an original screenplay
Your dialogue should follow screenplay formatting and include:
Sluglines for each setting
Action/Stage directions
Character names capitalized
Dialogue Centered
Transitions from scenes
Establish your character
Create some intrigue/interest
Fit the paradigm

I recommend using one of the following:

I’ll grade it according to the six traits and how well it follows, formatting and the paradigm.
