Video Collage Script
This assignment will happen in two stages: the composition of your script and its adaptation to video. We’ve watched examples of Video Essays—keep in the final product in mind as you write. After you’ve written and revised your essay, you will begin making your film.
You can film your own footage, take pictures, create Photoshop images and make your own audio. You can use pre-existing materials: You Tube footage, images from the web and audio you find—on-line or in iTunes. Everyone will write her/his own script. From there, we will decide which ones to develop into video projects.
Write something that you could read aloud in less than a minute—most certainly under two minutes.
Consider what you’ve written so far…
· “What I Believe but cannot Prove”
· If I had the world’s attention…
· “Cool Things”
· Something related to “The Palmist “ or the future
· Anything you’re inspired about that could work as a video collage.
Consider the above assignments as Pre-Writing. Look them over and start drafting. You will have a day in the lab to Peer Edit and Revise. Once you are happy with your draft, start looking for images and video to illustrate and illuminate your words. Share a Google Doc with me andrew.pfouts@bvsd.org and include links to potential links to images or video.
