Project barcodes allow you to create QR code labels to attach to equipment, allowing you to quickly look up that piece of equipment in the future with both the iOS and Android field tools with a camera. We will cover how to create and use barcodes for your equipment.
Accessing Project Barcodes:
Go to the Equipment Screen
Go to the Project Tools Section
Click Project Bar Codes
Project Barcode Overview:
When you click on the Project Bar Codes link it will take you to the Barcode Labels page where you have several setting options that allow you to customize the barcodes.
Barcode size selection dropdown menu.
Change company logo for the barcode.
Create Barcodes button.
Barcode Sizes:
Avery 5162 & 5163 labels are the two label sizes that are supported by the barcode tool. Both label sizes can be found at most office supply stores.
Change Logo Menu:
This menu allows you to select from an existing logo or upload your own logo to use on the barcodes.
Company Logo dropdown menu
Select New Logo File.
Save.

This allows you to choose from 3 existing logo options:
Project Logo
Company Logo
No Logo
Select New Logo:
The Select New Logo button allows you to upload a new logo to be used on your barcodes.
Save:
Clicking the Save button will load a window telling you to go to the reports page to download and view your barcodes. The File name for the barcode file will be based off of the project name and number.
Sample Barcode:
The barcodes will display the QR code, the Equipment Name, the Parent Object, the Area, and the Equipment ID Number.
Scanning a Barcode:
You can scan the barcode with either an Android or iOS field tool. This section will show you how to scan the barcodes.
iOS:
There are two ways to use the barcode to lookup a piece of equipment. You can open the equipment by scanning the barcode or by entering the equipment ID.
To lookup a piece of equipment by scanning the barcode:
Open the iOS app and go to the list of projects.
Tap the Scan button.
Tap the Scan button in the Scan window.
Center the QR code on the screen.
The app will load the corresponding piece of equipment.
To lookup a piece of equipment by entering the equipment ID:
Open the iOS app and go to the list of projects.
Tap the Scan button
Tap the Enter Code button in the Scan window.
Tap the project name associated with the equipment you want to open.
Enter the code from the barcode. In this example we will use the 7108f code from the barcode example above.
Tap the Search button.
The app will load the corresponding piece of equipment.
Android:
Open the Project and click on the Barcode Scanner button in the top right corner of the screen.
You may be prompted to install the Barcode Scanner App if you don't already have it installed on your device.
Center the barcode in the scanner.
The piece of equipment will open up on your device.
