1. Project Portal Summary
Below is a screen shot of the Project Portal with a sample project. All of the project related tools can be found on this page. We do cover all of the tools on this page or on another help page when the tool opens into another window. We begin with the equipment tree and then covering the tools on the right hand side of the page starting at the top and moving down in order.
Moving from left to right we have the equipment tree for this project organized by type, then area and finally zone as indicated at the top of each tree. So, when viewing the equipment tree by type you will see everything grouped together by equipment type, i.e. 10 - Air Handling Units, 2 Fan Filter Units etc.
In the second view, we are looking at the same equipment tree but organized by area. Now once you have area's defined in the system, equipment can be assigned to an area. When an area has one or more equipment objects assigned to it there will be a plus sign next to the area. When viewing by area, the equipment tree can be expanded to show all of the equipment assigned to a particular area. This allows a user to easily work geographically if they would like.
In the last view we are viewing the same equipment tree, but organized by zone. Zones work just like areas. You can define zones for a project, in this case Emergency Power and Standard Power. Once zone has been defined you can assign any piece of equipment to a zone. When viewing the equipment tree by zone, each zone that has any equipment assigned to it will have a plus sign next to it. This can be expanded to show all of the equipment that is assigned to that particular zone.
Please note that a single piece of equipment can be assigned to an area and a zone, but only a single area and a single zone.
5. Collapse Tree Object Options
There are four check boxes in this section that facilitate viewing the equipment tree more efficiently by hiding objects that are not in use.
Collapse Child Objects will hide all tree objects that are nested under or linked to another object. Checking this box leaves only what we refer to as parent level objects exposed and hides everything else. This is also referred to as the system level of the equipment tree. This check box should be checked when setting up a project forcing you to add the system/parent level first then adding the linked equipment underneath. Organizing your equipment into systems & parents will help you in running your reports to show each system together with its related equipment.
Hide Empty Objects will hide all tree objects that have zero counts. When you are setting up a project this box should remain unchecked, leaving objects exposed while you engineer your project. The Hide Empty Objects checkbox is used most frequently after a project has been fully setup for easier tree navigation and a less cluttered view of the equipment tree.
Hide Empty Parent Objects functions very similarly to Hide Empty Objects except that child items with a zero count will still be shown.
Hide Completed Objects will hide all equipment or items on the tree that have been marked complete.

2. Equipment Tree
The equipment tree is where you build out the equipment that is on the project. Data entry can be entered through a detail view or summary view. Issues, notes, and FPTs can also be logged or created for every object on the tree. Information that has been collected from the field and synchronized to the website can be accessed from here for review. We will show the process of adding tree objects to a project and also discuss adding objects more from an application perspective in the section 5.1 Project Setup.
3. Add a Project Level Issue
Adding a project level issue works just like adding an issue while in the detail view for a piece of equipment; the only difference is that the issue created is not associated with a specific piece of equipment. An example of a project level issue might be: "All of the piping insulation needs to be sealed properly" and you can log those types of issues by clicking the Add Project Level Issue link from the Project Portal page. For more detailed information on adding an issue to the system please see 3.20 Add Project Level Deficiency / Issue.
4. Organize by Type, Area, and Zone
Most of the time we think of a project based on the type and count of equipment that is on the project and generally setup a project using the schedule of equipment pages from a plan to assist with this organization. The organize by type is the default view of the equipment tree. This view you will be looking at the equipment tree based on the systems, equipment, and equipment counts for a project. The other two views are organize by area & zone. In order to use these views, equipment needs to be assigned to an area and/or zone respectively. You can toggle through the different views easily by clicking the appropriate option button next to the view you would like to see. Below are screen shots of the three different organizational views from the same project.
For more information regarding the equipment tree and setting up a project please see 5.1 Project Setup.
Daily Report - No permission required
Link / Unlink Items, Excel Export Tool, Project Bar Codes and Edit Project all require the permission - User can Edit General Project Information
Copy Project link requires permission - User can Add and Copy Projects
Assign Users link requires permission - User can Assign and Unassign Users to Projects (Web Tool Only)
Edit Area and Edit Zone options let you edit the areas and zones that have been used on the project.
Set Active Parameters allows you to deactivate parameters for equipment type on the project.
Set Project Parameters allows you to add a parameter to a system or equipment type for just one project that you may not normally collect.
The other links are tied to specific permissions, as follows:
There are a number of tools shown in the screen shot to the right. Many of these tools are tied to permissions and as a result, based on your permission access you may see or may not be able to see some of these tools. Most of these tools are fairly self explanatory, some require further explanation, but we will not go into that detail here since many of these tools will be restricted from the majority of users.
We will list out which links are associated with specific permissions. If you have access to the Admin screen then the Data Exception Tool and Audit Verification Tool will be available to you.
