Steps to Connecting a School Printer to a School Laptop
*Make sure that the Printer is connected with the blue Ethernet cable before beginning*
First get IP address from the printer:
Network Menu
Standard Network
STD Net Setup
Print Setup Page
On the sheet under TCP/IP take note of the IP Address.
For PCs, follow these steps:
Go to Control Panel
Open the Printers and Faxes option
Click on File > Add Printer
Select “ Local Printer Attached to this computer”
Uncheck the “Automatically detect and install my plug and play printer ”
Select Create new port > select Standard TCP/IP port
Insert the IP Address from the sheet on the top text box
Finalize installation
**If asked, identify the Printer Brand and Model. If your printer does not appear select the Lexmark T616.
For Macs, follow these steps:
Go to System Preferences (click the Apple icon, top right of screen)
Open Print & Fax
Click the “+” to add a printer
Choose Line Printer Daemon – LPD
Insert the IP Address in the Address field
Click Add
Choose Continue
Your printer should now be visible in the Print & Fax menu.
