Below you will find a listing of several educational resources that are available to enhance and enrich the learning of our students.
1. ACUITY
An all-in-one system for improving student achievement: Acuity provides interim and formative assessments designed to inform teaching and improve student learning. It gives information about the progress students are making towards success on the ELA and Mathematics Regent's examinations. Both students and teachers can use the information from this assessment as a guide to what they need to learn or teach before the next administration of the regent's examination in order to be successful.
The New York City Department of Education’s Achievement Reporting and Innovation System (ARIS) provides a single place where educators can find important information to use to accelerate student learning. Teachers and parents can get information about their students' past and current academic performance in the NYC public school system in addition to biographical and targeted intervention.
3. Google Apps for Brooklyn University High School for Law
This is the portal in which you can log into your ACORN Google Account to check email, view/edit calenders, and create/edit websites. All of the resources you create here can also be easily shared with colleagues and/or your students at ACORN High School for Social Justice. This is the central location for collaboration for all members of the ACORN community.

4. Edperformance Online Assessment (English & Math)
Edperformance is part of Scantron's performance Series and is a computer-adaptive test that automatically adapts to each student's instructional level. Edperformance gives educators an accurate snapshot of students' performance across a range of subjects and skills in far less time then traditional tests. Because it is Internet-based, Scantron is able to offer this assessment at a fraction of the cost of traditional placement tests.
5. Turnitin.com (English & Social Studies)
Turnitin.com is an online service that scans essays and term papers to check for material copied from web sites or purchased from paper mills (such as cheater.com), published works, or previously submitted essays.
6. Castle Learning (All core subjects)
Castle Learning Online supports classroom instruction through content-related review assignments, practice sessions and benchmark testing. Includes over 50,000 field-tested questions supported by defined vocabulary, reference tables, hints and reasons for correct answers in math, science, social studies, English and foreign languages. Core courses for grades 3-12 are correlated to standard curriculum.

This program differentiates the curriculum in all subject areas according to students interests and strengths, learning styles and expression modes. It makes the teacher's work to differentiate a particular lesson easier and it helps students maximize their learning of that lesson because they will learn in the way in which they can learn. Also, please be aware that Renzulli is just part of the differentiation puzzle, teachers play the major role. Differentiation involves differentiation of the content (knowledge), instructional styles (pedagogy), the classroom (management/organization) and the products.

Podcasting is like blogging out loud! It gives you a voice—one that can be heard worldwide on computers, iPods, or other MP3 players. Students can podcast to share their opinions, summarize a unit and/or collaborate with classmates. The point is to say what you want to say to those who want to hear it. With step-by-step explanations, screen shots, and tons of examples, this guide clues you in on recording, producing, and hosting your very own podcast.
