After a hard-fought, grind-it-out season, the Law & Tech soccer team earned a well-deserved third place finish in the NYISL soccer league by defeating Henry Street School by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday, November 20.
After a disappointing season last year, Coach Rohner & Coach Farina helped lead the team to the trophy stand this year by developing young players and building off of last year's minor successes. This year's team is truly a culmination of over five years of hard work and determination by both players and coaches. With this turnaround season, the soccer program earned it's first trophy in the history of the school and has made itself a force to be reckoned with.
With several basketball championships to it's credit, Law & Tech's history has been one filled with successes on the court. But this year's soccer team was eager to fill the Law & Tech trophy case on the 1st floor with a trophy of their own. Nestor Silva, Law & Tech star striker, even mentioned that he was "not leaving the field" until they won the third place game. Well, they did just that. And now the basketball program must make room for Law & Tech Soccer.
The spring season of Law & Tech soccer kicks off in March. Stay tuned.
