1. Find the IP Address from the printer.
Using the Menu arrows on the printer, find "NETWORK MENU" and hit Select.
When you see "STANDARD NETWORK," hit Select.
Using the Menu arrows on the printer, find "STD NET SETUP" and hit Select.
Using the Menu arrows on the printer, find "TCP/IP" and hit Select.
Using the Menu arrows on the printer, find "Set IP Address" and hit Select.
Write down that number, including the dots (.) This is the IP Address for the printer.
Hit the Return button on the printer until you are back at the home screen.
2. Enter your IP Address into your Mac's printer settings.
With any window open, click on the Apple symbol in the UPPER LEFT corner of the screen. Click here for an image of this step.
Select "System Preferences".
Click on "Print and Fax".
Click the (+) symbol on the left side of the menu.
Choose "Line Printer Daemon - LPD"
For the Address, enter the IP Address from your printer [the number from step 1 - including the dots (.)]
Leave Queue blank.
The Name of the printer should be your IP Address (it's automatically entered by the computer).
For Location, put the room number where the printer is located, or leave blank.
Click "Add".
Choose "Continue."
Your printer should now be connected and ready. You can print from it using any application on your Mac, from anywhere in the school.
