In celebration of Black History Month, Law & Tech is proud to host a Breath to Freedom event on Wednesday, February 26, 2014.
The documentary tells the story of African-American GIs stationed in Germany at the end of World War II. They fought to liberate Germany from Nazi rule, as racism reached unfathomable levels. Their fight would continue back home on American soil. This is the story of the one-million-plus African Americans who fought in World War II. Discover their encounters with hatred, from the enemy and from within their own ranks. Explore this paradoxical chapter in American history through interviews with war heroes, including Colin Powell, Tuskegee ace pilot Roscoe Brown, and Charles Evers, brother of Civil Rights activist and WWII veteran Medgar Evers.
Law & Tech students will meet Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, view the film, and have the opportunity to share in a Q & A session with experts on the subject matter.
This is truly a remarkable event and we are honored to play host.
