"Participating in the Random Makerthon of Kindness was an eye-opening experience. We learned a lot from the children and look forward to joining NYU at their next event (taking place in the spring). Many of the kids we worked with were able to code at least two different programs and understood the application of gears to a robots structure. We had a lot of fun explaining robotics to interested parents as well. Many came up to us with questions regarding similar events hosted by NYU and seemed very impressed by our workshop. They also asked about our robotics team and the kits we used during the workshop."
Secondly, in spring 2016, the students are planning on hosting their own Hackathon at Law & Tech. This will be first for our school! It will be free and open to the public. The details are still be figured out, but this even will surely be a hit.
Way to go Law & Tech robotics!
Firstly, back on November 21, several of the the students, led by juniors Caroline R., Sinai C., Henry C., and Carlos O., taught robotics at the Random Makerthon of Kindness. The students tutored kids between the ages of 6-10 with robotics and engineering. Here's a recap from the robotics students:
In addition to taking an advanced robotics elective class 5 days a week and participating in the annual First Tech Challenge, the Law & Tech robotics students are continuing to challenge themselves and expand their reach this school year.
