Contracts
Grantees will receive a Notice of Grant Award (NOGA) package consisting of general provisions and award materials pertaining to each grant or cooperative agreement award. The NOGA package cover sheet will contain the specific details of the grant award, including the award amount, the period of performance, award type, and recipient name, among other items.
Grant agreements are, in effect, contracts that hold serious consequences for noncompliance. Grant Accounting has designed a consistent process to provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of the following objectives:
(a) Effectiveness and efficiency of operations;
(b) Reliability of reporting for internal and external use; and
(c) Compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Amendments
Grant amendments can change any of the components of the original grant contract – the program deliverables, the budget, the total award, the length of the grant period. For that reason, it is important to review the documentation carefully to determine the full extent of the changes. Generally, review all of the steps for setting up a new account, and determine whether any changes are required at each step. If needed:
