Pre-Award Grant Process

Austin Community College's Grant Development department is responsible for obtaining new funding by applying for Federal, State, Local, and Private grants. The pre-award process begins with ACC departments working with Grant Development to plan and develop the grant application. Items to keep in mind when applying for a grant:

• Program Description, purpose, goals and measurement metrics
• Determination of discretionary or statutory program
• Projected amount of funds needed for a successful program - Developing the grant budget
• Anticipated source of funds
• Eligibility requirements
• Audit applicability
• ACC is financially responsible for any errors made in the budgeting process, regardless of the cause.
• Any additional costs incurred due to an error in the planning process must be borne by the grantee's departmental budget.
