Installing Mods, Playing Demos

Demos: Generally 1v1 or similar demos are titled "vs______". All demo files are titled with a suffix of:

Tremulous

.dm_69 for 1.1

.svdm_69 for 1.1 server demos (Requires a Demo Patch for the server to play it)

.dm_70 for GPP

.svdm_70 for GPP server demos (Requires a Demo Patch for the server)

Unvanquished

.dm_86 for the current Unvanquished Alpha 26 (as of 6 April 2014)

Lolards Visual Mod:

*************

Lolards 1.1 visual mod and its qvm files has been move to /base. [see left panel]

Additionally, the visual mod is out of date. Do not download it unless you want to mess around with the settings for your own purpous, or just to get the first person weapon visual displacement fixes, as it has the potential to make things look *funny.* No garanteed satisfaction.

Lolards Visual Mod for Unvanquished is titled zz-shinyLolards.pk3. Check the upload date to make sure it is compatable with the constantly updating Unvanquished. If the month is the same as the month you updated unvanquished, you should be all good. Post bugs and errors on here, or at http://unvanquished.net/forum/showthread.php/220-Lolards-visual-mod. Credits for textures inside. If you have not been credited, TELL ME!

To play the demos, execute the respective command and you don't need to add the suffix (i.e. dm_69 for tremulous) as the game will automatically do that for you:

Temulous, Unvanquished: /play <demoname>

Xonotic: ???

War§ow: ???

War Thunder: No command console, just use the menus provided (GAY)

World of Tanks: No command console, just use the menus provided despite it actually has a console, just not usable by the public game builds (GAY)

Other operating systems....

Anything after the file directory 'appdata' in the above paths should stay the same. Apart from that:

Mac OS X (not sure about lion): user/library/appsupport/<etc.>

I'm not sure about that one, since i do not own  mac.

Linux... uhh. not sure.... check with someone else.

**If installed via Desura, it'll be under  C:/Program Files/Desura/Common/<Game Name>

To install or find your own pk3 files, your main pk3 files would be in these folders, it depends on the game.

Tremulous - c:/docs and settings/username/appdata/tremulous/base

OR c:/program files/tremulous/base

Trem gpp - c:/docs and settings/username/appdata/tremulous/gpp

OR c:/program files/tremulous/gpp

Installing mods are done in a similar fashion:

c:/docs and settings/username/appdata/tremulous/<modname>

OR c:/program files/tremulous/<modname>

Finding the directory of your demos is similar, just add '/demos' after the path directory. And when i say this, this EXCLUDES /profiles/user of course. I'm pointing out the obvious so dumb people who don't read properly know. For example:

Tremulous - c:/docs and settings/username/appdata/tremulous/base/demos

Trem gpp - c:/docs and settings/username/appdata/tremulous/gpp/demos

Modifications: c:/docs and settings/username/appdata/tremulous/<fs_game>/demos (Where fs_Game = "gamename"/mod name, type /fs_Game in the console to check gamename)

For some other games:

Unvanquished* - c:/docs and settings/username/appdata/daemon/main

                         *cough cough* it's now this: - C:/docs and settings/username/my documents/my games/Unvanquished/game/demos

Xonotic - C:/docs and settings/username/my documents/my games/Xonotic/data/demos

War Thunder - <Install Directory>/Replays

*******CONFIG.BLK - MY GRAPHICS SETTINGS*********

For those who would like to try out my shitty graphics settings that I use to increase my framerate, go to program files/war thunder and backup your old config.blk (since you WILL want to use it instead of my config.blk unless you're suffering from similar framerate issues as me) and place my config.blk version in your folder. I'm not sure if I set the file to read-only at the time of its upload but go ahead and check if you want, else you can just start aces.exe (not the launcher) and skip the update. GL;HF spotting!

World of Tanks - C:/Games/World_of_Tanks/replays OR <installdirectory>/replays

*Autogen.cfg file is in - c:/docs and settings/username/appdata/daemon/main/profiles/user

But i won't upload anything that needs to go there. Only edit that file in emergencies as if you screw it up, you'll be stuck with defaults until you fix them again.

Just create a binds.cfg (really just a text file) of binds and exec that for safety.

Note: If you're after handy download/website links but ended up here, go here instead.

To open pk3 files, just right click and click 'open with' and select winrar or 7zip. Or just rename the file to .zip format. [requires you to be able to see the endings of the file name]

.dm_85 (for the Old Unvanquished, pre-alpha 5)

Quake 3 Arena

.dm_68

War§ow

.wd15 for WarSow 1.0 and 1.02

War Thunder

.wrpl

World of Tanks

.wotreplay

(YYYYMMDD_HHMM_Nation-TANKPREFIXID#_TANKNAME_MAPID#_MAPNAME)

Games that share the same suffix:

.dem files for Team Fortress 2 / Xonotic* 0.6 / Xonotic* 0.7 (same suffix)

*They'll be titled in the format of <year>-<month>-<day>_<hr>_<min>_[mapname].dem for distinction, or will contain the word "Xon" somewhere in its title
