Workshop on integrating quantitative methods into the politics and IR curriculum

On 9 July, Newcastle University will host a workshop on the integration of quantitative methods into the politics and international relations curriculum. The workshop will include discussion of the use of pedagogical materials developed for use in British politics, American politics and international relations as part of workshops conducted last summer, as well as presentations from those who have used different approaches to integrating quantitative methods into the politics curriculum. The workshop will be an excellent opportunity to learn about some of the innovative approaches lecturers have been taking to this problem; in addition, there will be time set aside to discuss how these approaches might be used at your own university and to brainstorm other approaches to the issue. Attendance is open to anyone with teaching experience in politics or international relations, including postgraduates. The workshop is funded as part of ESRC grant (ES/J01186X/1).

The workshop will run 10-4 on 9 July in Newcastle. Money is available for travel to the workshop from the UK. Please get in touch with Dr. Emily Clough (Emily.Clough@ncl.ac.uk) if you have any questions or would like to register.
