Planned Service Registry

No formal design has begun so there are no design artifacts. See project plan (PHGrid2010_v2.mpp) for proposed approach).

We have developed a list of requirements for future improvements to the current registry:
  • Should adhere to at least UDDI 2.0 specification (3.0 preferred) to allow publishing and query.
  • Should implement white pages, green pages and yellow pages in that order.
  • Should extend UDDI with Discovery/Index services to allow for advanced searching, grid security, non-SOAP services, availibility/performance data, federated registry.
  • Should include some social aspects that allow users to rank/vote on services and to comment/forum on specific services.
  • Should include test capability to allow the service to be easily invoked without installing software on the client workstation.
  • Should allow secured and public web services.
We've had previous discussions on the blog about project called the Membrane SOA Registry. This is not necessarily the registry project to implement, but contains many of the ideas described above.
