In 1911 Percy John Turtle, 14, lived at 63 Calbourne Road, Streatham, where the family had six rooms. His father, Richard Turtle, 44, a House of Commons messenger, was originally from Ipswich; his mother Fanny Mary Turtle, 43, was from Brompton, west London. Percy had two sisters, Frances Ivy Turtle, 9, born in Fulham, and Mabel Elizabeth Turtle, 6, born in Clapham. Percy was born in Fulham.
