In 1911 Harry Clement Serin (listed as Harry C. Serin on the census but as Clement Serin on the memorial) was a 15-year-old schoolboy living with his parents at 18 Rectory Grove, Clapham. His father, Leopold H. Serin, 63, was a retired cook, born in France but a naturalised British Subject; his mother, Augusta Serin, 42, was from Woodchester, Gloucestershire. There were five children (all were born in Clapham):
