Private, Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment)Although under military age he volunteered in September 1914, and early in the following year was sent to the Western Front. In this theatre of war he fought in many important engagements, and was so severely wounded as to necessitate his return to England. On his recovery he was re-drafted to France and was subsequently killed in action near Albert on October 25th, 1916, during the Somme Offensive. He was entitled to the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals.14, St. Alphonus Road, Clapham, S.W.4.
