Information from the 1911 census

On the night of the 1911 census, Gilbert Arthur Dockree, 16, and his 20-year-old brother Eric Percy Dockree were staying at the Lansdowne Private Hotel, 13 Lansdowne Terrace, Eastbourne. Their father, Edwin Dockree, a 51-year-old bank manager from Islington, is listed at 149 High Street, Clapham (London County & Westminster Bank), a nine-roomed dwelling, along with Nellie Hearn, a 20-year-old servant from Essex. Edwin gave the number of years married as 24 although this information was not required (only wives gave this data). The couple had had three children, only Gilbert and Eric surviving.

I have not found Dorothy Martha Dockree on the 1911 census. However Andrews Newspaper Index Cards gives her date of death as 22 December 1938 and her address as 29a Stockwell Park Road.

Andrews Newspaper Index Cards gives place of death as Highwood, France

Gilbert's will was proved by his father. He left effects worth £441 18s 7d (National Probate Calendar)
