Pupils will attend the school in the attendance district in which they reside unless assigned to some other school by the Superintendent of Schools.
Pupils changing residence within the West Warwick Public School System may complete the semester at the schools that they have been attending and the parent(s)/guardian(s) will assume responsibility for transportation.
Individual school attendance district boundaries will be established by the Office of the Superintendent of Schools with approval of the School Committee and may be changed as population conditions warrant or capacities of buildings require adjustment of pupil loads.
Transfers
The Superintendent of Schools may grant school transfers on a space available basis.
Requests for transfers will be forwarded to the Superintendent of Schools or designee who will function as an agent of the Superintendent and act on requests. Requests for transfers will be submitted to the Superintendent of Schools by August 1 of the year preceding the next school year. The Superintendent will review projected pupil enrollments of grades in the school to which the transfer is requested. If there is clearly available space for the child in the grade requested, that child may be assigned to the school/class. In the event there are more requests for transfers into a given grade in a given school, the Superintendent will assign students on a first-come-first-served basis
Transportation will be the responsibility of the student and/or his or her parents.
