Develop a policy for a healthy indoor breathing environment that adheres to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Tools for Schools or equivalent indoor health and safety program.

West Warwick Public Schools is committed to provide a healthy indoor breathing environment that will contribute to a positive learning environment for students and staff.
Policy
Using the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Tools for Schools or an equivalent indoor health and safety program, the West Warwick Public Schools shall implement an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Management Plan that will include supporting guidance documents, checklists, and schedules.
The Director of Facilities shall be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the IAQ Management Plan.
The IAQ Management Plan shall include provisions to:
Eliminate conditions which encourage mold and mildew growth by keeping facilities well-ventilated and moisture-free
Minimize dust and exposure to dust mites
Properly balance the ventilation system
Check that filters for ventilation, heating and air-conditioning systems are efficient and frequently replaced
Prevent exposure to pesticides, cleaning supplies, paints, solvents, combustion gasses, cigarette smoke and vaping fumes.
