Standard III. Instructional technology facilitators facilitate the implementation of a comprehensive 21st Century instructional technology program.
a. Instructional technology facilitators serve as a specialist, fostering the effective use of digital tools and resources for constructing and sharing knowledge using inquiry-based instruction.
I am working on promoting SGHS through social media, whether it's information about our food distribution or how to find your Spring Semester Schedule. Once the immediate needs of our students and staff are met, I will move forward with PBL projects.
In May, I was part of a meeting with WCPSS communications and other staff at SGHS that send out communications. See notes here.
Technology Equipment
South Garner and WCPSS have actively checked out chromebooks and students since March 2020. There have been shortages at times. but thankfully SGHS was not affected. We have been tasked with collecting chromebooks from Seniors. See above for our plan. All hotposts are to be collected and returned to Tech Services. new hotspots will be distributed to those in need in the Fall. The new hotspots should work better, but hopefully the need will be less with more in person instructional opportunities.
This was created prior to Spring 2021 semester.
It is a one-pager that has screencasts and written instructions- and a Spanish version, thanks to Ms. Martinez. It addresses everything from the bell schedule to how to log in to your WakeID to how to find your schedule to how to join your classroom.
