About Me

I love my job. I feel blessed to be able to share with people that I would honestly volunteer to do my job if I could. I've held several positions in the public school system since I began this career: teacher assistant, technology teacher and instructional technology facilitator.

My first degree is in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I earned my teaching degree (elementary education) from Campbell University. After that, I obtained my Masters (MAEd) from East Carolina in Instruction Technology.

Things have changed a lot in my personal life over the past 3 years.

My children have all flown the nest. And they flew pretty far. Danielle, our oldest, is in Alaska working as a marine biologist. Steven, our youngest, is in the Marines and has been to several places already. Brittany, our middle child, is in Raleigh, putting her degree in Architecture to good work at local firm! A lot of times they are in 3 different time zones.

I recently asked the kids why they all go so far away. I loved Brittany's response, "You and Dad taught us to never pass up an adventure! So we're not!"

Mike, my husband of 25+ years, and I are keeping busy travelling to see the kids and entertaining our newest member of our family, Midge. We also enjoy camping and hiking. I love to read, practice yoga and cook, too.
